Kyo-no-oto No. 02 Imayoiro – Kyoto Ink

It means “the color of the fashion now”, and it refers to the red dyed with safflower, which was toned in the Heian period. You can see how it was liked by the women of the dynasty at the time.

“Kyo no oto” is a series of writing inks that reproduce traditional Japanese colours used since the Heian period with modern techniques and interpretations.  Each colour is characterized by a unique name and story.
